Lightning kills three FRSC Officers in Ogun

Three officers of the Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, have been reportedly killed by thunder strike. 

Reports indicate that the officers were struck by thunder on the premises of their office at the Old Toll Gate area of Ilese town in Ijebu North East Local Government Area of the state. 

Witnesses claim that the FRSC personnel were preparing for their morning parade when disaster struck, pointing out that the sad occurrence had attracted worshippers of Sango, the acclaimed god of thunder to the scene to perform some traditional rites on the corpses before they are allowed for burial.

It, was however, gathered that men of the State’s Special Security Outfit code named “OP MESA”, have taken over security of the entire area, chasing residents away from the scene and preventing journalists from taking pictures.

Public Education Officer for the Command, Mrs Florence Okpe confirmed the unfortunate incident but declined further comment.
