Man jailed for 4 years for sexual abuse on minor

An Abeokuta Chief Magistrates’ Court, on Thursday, sentenced a 47-year-old man, Moshood Shaabi, to four years imprisonment for sexually abusing an eight-year-old girl.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr J. E Akan, convicted Shaabi after he had pleaded guilty to the one-count charge of sexual abuse.

Akan held that all the evidences before the court proved that the convict had sexual intercourse with the eight-year-old.

He then sentenced Shaabi to four years imprisonment without an option of fine.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Bukola Abolade, had told the court that the convict committed the offense on March 26, at Alaba Market, Ogijo in Sagamu area of Ogun State.

Abolade said that the convict lured the little girl into a shop and sexually abused her.

She said that the offense contravened Section 33 of the Child Right’s Laws of Ogun, 2006.
