NYSC extends seven Corps members service year, as 3 absconds in Osun
The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has extended the service year of seven corps members while indicating that three members absconded in Osun State.
The scheme also announced the unfortunate loss of a corps member during the service year.
The NYSC State Coordinator, Mr Adewale Adegoke made this known at the event marking the completion of service of the 2019 Batch C, Stream I in Osogbo the state capital.
Mr Adegoke said out of the 3216 corps members that passed out from Batch C Stream, three members that absconded from the service would repeat the service year, while seven others would serve an extension of service for various offences committed.
He said the punitive measures meted on the erring corps members was to serve as deterrent to other serving corps members.
The coordinator said, distribution of certificates to Batch C, Stream I, corps members would be done in the local government areas in compliance with the COVID-19 protocols.
The Director of NYSC, Southwest Area Office, Mr Emmanuel Attah admonished corps members to be patriotic and serve as instrument of peace and development to Nigeria.
