Sanwo-Olu names new 13-member LASU Governing Council

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has appointed a former Lagos State Accountant General, Mr. David Sunmoni, as Chairman of the 13-member Board of Trustees of Lagos State University (LASU).

Sanwo -Olu’s special education adviser Tokunbo Wahab said in a statement that the appointment was based on the Special Visiting Panel’s report on the appointment of the 9th vice-chancellor.

He said the visiting committee recommended the dissolution of the university’s previous board of trustees and by the powers conferred on the governor by the Lagos State University Act, Cap L69 volume 7, Laws of the ‘Lagos State, 2015 (as amended).

The other members of the Board are Prof. Amuwo Shaffudeen, Mr. Anuoluwa Eso, Mr. Tolani Sule, Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, Mr. Karl Toriola, Mr. Adekunle Soname, Ms. Foluke Abdul-Rasaq, Ms. Moronke Williams, Adebayo Akinsanya, Ms. Adenike Fasheun, Ms. Mojisola Taiwo and the Dr Hakeem Adetugbobo.

The governor said the official inauguration date of the new board would be announced at a later date.
