Two arrested for alleged car theft at redemption camp
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 43-year-old man, Friday Ezi, for allegedly stealing seven cars at the Redemption Camp on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State
The police also nabbed a 27-year-old motor spare parts dealer, one Onyekachi Atama, for allegedly buying those cars, dismantling and selling them.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement on Thursday, said Ezi who lives at No.5 Adesuah Iyamo Benin-City in Edo state took operatives to Onitsha, Anambra where Atama was arrested.
The suspects were arrested following a report by one Titilayo Otitodogbon that her car was stolen from the park by an unknown person.
The spokesman of the state’s command, Mr Abimbola Oyeyemi said the DPO in-charge of Redeemed camp CSP Chris Amanyi, detailed his detectives to the area towards arresting the suspects.
Mr Oyeyemi said the Commissioner of Police, Mr Kenneth Ebrimson, who commended the investigative team for a job well-done, had directed that the suspects be transferred to Anti-Car Theft Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for proper investigation and prosecution.
