Abiodun to security chiefs: Make life unbearable for criminals on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Governor Dapo Abiodun, of Ogun State has charged security operatives in the state to make life unbearable for criminals terrorising travelers and users of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

Abiodun also asked the heads of security agencies in the state to step up efforts in ensuring safe movement on the state axis of the road.

Abiodun said this on Thursday after an emergency meeting held with the heads of security agencies in the state.

It was gathered that those present at the meeting included officers of the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

Abiodun in a statement issued after the meeting said security chiefs have received the directive to “make life unbearable” for perpetrators of crime along the expressway.

“We held an emergency meeting with security chiefs today against the background of the upsurge in untoward activities by criminal elements on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway,” he said.

“The chiefs have marching orders to make life unbearable for those criminals who have decided to make the corridor and indeed any part of Ogun State, their attack haven.

“We will not relent in ensuring adequate security of lives and property of Ogun State residents and anyone travelling through the State during this period and anytime at that.”
