AIG charges Oyo, Osun CPs to tackle cultism, kidnapping
Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 11 Command Headquarters in Osogbo, comprising of Osun and Oyo commands, Olanrewaju Yomi Oladimeji has ordered Commissioners of Police in charge of the state commands to tackle cultism and kidnapping activities in their commands.
The tactical commanders serving under the jurisdiction were also warned against treating anyone culpable of any offence with kid gloves.
The directive was contained in a resolution issued at the end of a security meeting by the Spokesperson of the zone, CSP Benjamin Ayeni on Friday in Osogbo.
The meeting was held between the AIG Oladimeji, the Commissioners of Police for Oyo and Osun Commands and the tactical commanders.
The meeting was also held to map out different strategies to protect the lives of both security personnel and citizens, as well as all property within the zone.
According to the statement, “Most of the resolutions of the security meeting were considered as issues that needed to be kept from public domain for security reasons.
“Members of the public are assured that the police would take proactive action against crime and criminality to maintain the zone’s record as a peace haven.”
