COVID-19: Nigeria records 1,133 new cases, as total hits 80,922

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 1,133 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 80,922.
The NCDC disclosed this on its official Twitter handle on Wednesday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 395 coronavirus patients who have been successfully treated in some of the isolation centres were discharged after receiving their second negative result while 5 new deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 1,231.
The 1,133 new cases are reported from 17 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country recorded 397 new infections followed by FCT -357.
Other states with new cases include Kaduna -81, Plateau -63, Katsina -46, Sokoto -32, Oyo -28, Ogun -21, Kano -19, Rivers -18, Osun -13, Edo -12, Niger -12, Bayelsa -11, Borno -11, Bauchi -8, Jigawa -2, and Ondo -2.
Till date, 80,922 cases have been confirmed, 69,274 cases have been discharged and 1,236 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
