COVID-19: Nigeria records 1,139 new cases, total now 241,513

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 1,139 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 241,513.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Thursday.    

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 512 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 2 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 3,030.

The 1,139 new cases are reported from 18 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Rivers topped the days’ infections chart with 420 new cases followed by Lagos -324.

Other states with new cases include, Oyo -81, Gombe -47, Akwa Ibom -41, Kaduna -36, Niger -36, Ondo -35, FCT -29, Delta -18, Edo -15, Ogun -14, Kano -12, Cross River -9, Ekiti -8, Kebbi -8, Nasarawa -4, Enugu -1 and Jigawa -1.

Till date, 241,513 cases have been confirmed 214,003 cases have been discharged and 3,030 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
