COVID-19: Nigeria records 1,149 new cases, total now 184,593

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 1,149 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 184,593

The NCDC disclosed this via its official facebook page on Wednesday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 279 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 7 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,236.

The 1,149 new cases were reported from 15 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

Lagos the epicenter of the virus in the country recorded 680 new infections followed by Rivers 157, Akwa Ibom 94 and Oyo 56.

Other states with new cases include Edo-36, FCT-34, Ogun-31, Ekiti-20, Delta-16, Abia-5, Nasarawa-5, Osun-5, Cross River-4, Plateau-3, Sokoto-2 and Kano-1.

Till date, 184,593 cases have been confirmed, 167,738 cases have been discharged and 2,236 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
