COVID-19: Nigeria records 1,270 new cases, total now 102,601

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 1,270 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 102,601.

The NCDC disclosed this on its official Twitter handle on Tuesday.

Data from the NCDC reveals that 1,083 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 12 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from virus to 1,373.

The 1270 new cases are reported from 21 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicenter of the virus in the country recorded 435 new cases followed by FCT -234 and Oyo -103.

Other states with new infections includes Plateau -86, Rivers -71, Enugu -51, Nasarawa -41, Delta -39, Edo -39, Osun -33, Niger -31, Sokoto -23, Ondo -16, Taraba -13, Ebonyi -12, Kano -10, Abia -9, Bayelsa -8, Bauchi -7, Imo -5, Katsina -3 and Gombe -1.

Till date, 102,601 cases have been confirmed, 81,574 cases have been discharged and 1,373 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
