COVID-19: Nigeria records 1,305 new cases, total now 236,014

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 1,305 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 236,014.
The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Saturday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 120 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 21 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 3,014.
The 1,356 new cases are reported from 14 states of the federation.
Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country topped the day’s infections chart with 705 new cases followed by Oyo -234, Ondo -88, Kaduna -79 and Rivers -78.
Other states with new cases include Ogun -30, Anambra -25, Kano -24, Enugu -12, Ekiti -11, Jigawa -6, Osun -6, Plateau -6 and Zamfara -1.
Till date, 236,014 cases have been confirmed 212,357 cases have been discharged and 3,014 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
