COVID-19: Nigeria records 1,354 new cases, total now 92,705

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday confirmed 1,354 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 92,705.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 697 coronavirus patients who have been successfully treated in some of the isolation centres were discharged after receiving their second negative result while 1 new deaths was recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 1,319.

The 1,354 new cases are reported from 21 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria recorded 712 new cases followed by FCT -145 and Plateau -117.

Other states with new cases include Kwara -81, Kaduna 54-, Sokoto -39, Oyo-38, Rivers -37, Gombe -21, Enugu -20, Akwa Ibom -16, Bauchi -14, Delta -14, Ebonyi -13, Anambra -9, Taraba -8, Edo -8, Kano -3, Osun -2, Ekiti -2 and Ogun -1

Till date, 92,705 cases have been confirmed, 76,396 cases have been discharged and 1,319 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
