COVID-19: Nigeria records 1,355 new cases, total now 240,379

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 1,355 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 240,374.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Wednesday.    

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 311 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 1 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 3,028.

The 1,355 new cases are reported from 9 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country reported 1,036 new cases followed by Nasarawa-92, Delta-58 and FCT-57.

Other states with new cases include, Edo -44, Rivers -25, Kano -23, Enugu -11, Plateau -6 and Bayelsa -3.

Till date, 240,374 cases have been confirmed 213,491 cases have been discharged and 3,028 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
