COVID-19: Nigeria records 1,368 new cases, total now 225,255

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 1,368 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 225,255.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Monday.    

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 123 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result.

The 1,368 new cases are reported from 19 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country topped the day’s infections chart with 844 new cases followed by FCT -209, Oyo -58 and Abia -51.

Other states with new cases include Ondo -39, Ogun -30, Kaduna -26, Delta -20, Akwa Ibom -17, Osun -15, Ekiti -12, Anambra -7, Zamfara -7, Cross River -6, Kano -6, Kwara -6, Rivers-6, Bauchi -5, Gombe -3 and Plateau -1.

Till date, 225,255 cases have been confirmed 211,660 cases have been discharged and 2,985 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
