COVID-19: Nigeria records 100 new cases as total infections exceed 55,000

Nigeria on Sunday recorded 100 new cases of COVID-19, bringing total infections in the country to 55,005.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known via its official twitter handle.

The health agency said that three new deaths were recorded in the country on Sunday.

The 100 new cases were reported from 9 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos recorded 39 new cases, followed by FCT with 22 new infections and Kaduna 19 new cases.

Other states with new infections include Oyo -7, Ebonyi -6, Edo -3, Katsina -1, Ekiti -1, Bauchi -1 and Nasarawa -1.

Till date, 55,005 cases have been confirmed, 43,013 cases have been discharged and 1,057 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
