COVID-19: Nigeria records 100 new cases, total now 164,588

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 100 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 164,588.

The NCDC disclosed this on its official Twitter handle on Thursday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 137 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result.

The 100 new cases are reported from 8 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

Taraba topped the day’s infections chart with 64 new infections followed by Lagos-21.

Other states with new cases include FCT-4, Rivers-3, Akwa Ibom-2, Kaduna-2, Oyo-2, Bauchi-1 and Nasarawa-1

Till date, 164,588 cases have been confirmed, 154,578 cases have been discharged and 2,061 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
