COVID-19: Nigeria records 102 new cases, total now 166,918

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 102 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 166,918.

The NCDC disclosed this via its official facebook page on Tuesday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 69 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result.

The 102 new cases are reported from 9 states of the federation.

Ondo topped the day’s infections chart with 68 new cases followed by Bayelsa-17.

Other states with new cases include Kaduna-5, Lagos-3, Rivers-3, Akwa Ibom-2, Gombe-2, Ebonyi-1 and Oyo-1.

Till date, 166,918 cases have been confirmed, 163,259 cases have been discharged and 2,117 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
