COVID-19: Nigeria records 112 new cases, as total hits 64,996

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 112 new COVID-19 cases bringing total number of infections in the country to 64,996.

The NCDC made this known via its verified website on Saturday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) shows that 93 coronavirus patients who were treated in some of the isolation centres were discharged after receiving their second negative result.

The 112 new cases are reported from 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

FCT leads the day’s chart with 27 new cases followed by Oyo -27.

Other states with new infections include Bayelsa -9, Rivers -9, Delta -7, Edo -5, Kaduna -5, Ogun -5, Anambra -3, Katsina -3, Ondo -3, Osun -3, Plateau -3, Niger -2 and Kano -1.

Nigeria had so far tested 705,809 people since the first confirmed COVID-19 case was reported on Feb. 27 this year.

Till date, 64,996 cases have been confirmed, 61,029 cases have been discharged and 1,163 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
