COVID-19: Nigeria records 113 new cases, total now 62,224

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 113 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 62,224.  

The NCDC disclosed this via its official twitter handle on Tuesday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 345 patients were successfully treated and discharged on Tuesday while 3 casualties were recorded pushing the nation’s death toll to 1,132.

On the 27th of October 2020, 113 new confirmed cases and 3 deaths were recorded in Nigeria

The 113 new cases are reported from 11 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)  

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the nation recorded 51 new infections followed by FCT -15 and Plateau -11.

Other states with new cases include Kaduna -8, Oyo -8, Rivers -8, Ogun -4, Edo -2, Imo -2, Kwara -2, Delta -1 and Kano -1

Till date, 62,224 cases have been confirmed, 57,916 cases have been discharged and 1135 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Meanwhile, the country has tested 614,480 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced on Feb. 27, 2020.
