COVID-19: Nigeria records 118 new cases, total now 61,558

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday confirmed 133 new COVID-19 cases, bringing total number of infections in the country to 61,558.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 86 patients were successfully treated and discharged after recovering from the novel coronavirus.

The 118 new cases are reported from 9 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus recorded 51 new cases followed by Rivers -26 and Imo -12.

Other states with new infections include Osun -8, Plateau -6, FCT -5, Kaduna -4, Ogun -3, Edo -2 and Niger -1

Till date, 61,558 cases have been confirmed, 56,697 cases have been discharged and 1,125 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
