COVID-19: Nigeria records 119 new cases, as infections exceed 62,000
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 119 new cases of COVID-19, bringing total number of infections in the country to 62,111.
The NCDC disclosed this via its official twitter handle on Monday.
Data from the health agency reveals that 106 patients were discharged on Monday while 2 casualties were recorded pushing the nation’s death toll to 1,132.
The 119 new cases are reported from 5 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the nation reported 77 new infections followed by FCT - 26.
Other states with new cases include Plateau -9, Edo -4, Oyo -2 and Nasarawa -1
Till date, 62,111 cases have been confirmed 57,571 cases have been discharged and 1,132 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
