COVID-19: Nigeria records 122 new cases, as total hits 67,960

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 122 new COVID-19 cases, bringing total number of infections in the country to 67,960.

The NCDC made this known via its official website on Wednesday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 409 coronavirus patients who were successfully treated in some of the isolation centres were discharged after receiving their second negative result while 1 new death was recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 1,177.

The 122 new cases are reported from 11 states of the federation.

Kaduna tops the day’s infection chart with 37 new cases followed by Lagos -29 and Plateau -25.

Other states with new cases include Ekiti -9, Rivers -5, Ogun -5, Edo -4, Kwara -4, Bayelsa -2, Bauchi -1, and Kano -1.

Till date, 67,960 cases have been confirmed, 63,839 cases have been discharged and 1,177 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
