COVID-19: Nigeria records 123 new cases, total now 251,694

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 123 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 251,694

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Thursday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 175 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 6 new COVID-19 related deaths were  recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 3,123.

The 123 new cases are reported from 12 states of the federation.

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country did not report any new case for the day while Edo topped the days’ infections chart with 38 new cases followed by Osun -25 and Rivers -22

Other states with new cases include Kaduna -12, Oyo -10, Kwara -6, Ogun -3, Bauchi -2, Kano -2, Borno -1, Delta -1 and Ekiti -1.

Till date, 251,694 have been confirmed 225,455 cases have been discharged and 3,123 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
