COVID-19: Nigeria records 137 new cases, total now 63,173

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 137 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing total number of infections in the country to 63,173.

The NCDC made this known via its official twitter handle on Tuesday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 306 patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres across the nation while four (4) fatalities were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll to 1,151. 

The 137 new cases are reported from 15 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus continues to top the daily infection chart with 60 new cases followed by Abia -21, FCT -18 and Rivers -13.

Other states with new cases include Kaduna -5, Oyo -4, Edo -3, Delta -2, Imo -2, Kano -2, Ogun -2, Bauchi -1, Gombe -1, Nasarawa -1, Niger -1, Osun -1.

Till date, 63,173 cases have been confirmed, 59,634 cases have been discharged and 1,151 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
