COVID-19: Nigeria records 144 new cases, total now 213,321

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 144 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 213,321.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Tuesday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 436 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 5 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,973.  

The 144 new cases are reported from 12 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Imo topped the day’s infections chart with 38 new cases followed by Plateau-20, Lagos-17, FCT-16, Kwara-15 and Zamfara-15.

Other states with new cases include Ondo-7, Rivers-5, Taraba-4, Oyo-3, Bauchi-2, Edo-1 and Ekiti-1.

Till date, 213,321 cases have been confirmed 206,206 cases have been discharged and 2,973 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
