COVID-19: Nigeria records 153 new cases, as total exceed 59,000
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday confirmed 153 new cases of COVID-19 bringing total number of infections in the country to 59,001.
The health agency (NCDC) disclosed this via its official twitter handle.
Data from the NCDC shows that 94 patients were successfully treated and discharged after recovering from the Coronavirus.
The 153 new cases are reported from 13 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Lagos the epic centre of the virus in the country reported 81 new infections followed by Rivers -21 and FCT -11.
Other states with new infections include Ogun -8, Kaduna -7, Oyo -6, Akwa Ibom -5, Osun -3, Katsina -3, Edo -2, Ebonyi -2, Nasarawa -2, Plateau -1 and Kano -1
Till date, 59,001 cases have been confirmed, 50,452 cases have been discharged and 1,112 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
