COVID-19: Nigeria records 156 new cases, total infections now 54,743
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday announced 156 new cases of COVID-19, bringing total number of infections in the nation to 54,743.
The health agency (NCDC) made this known via its official twitter handle.
Data from the NCDC shows that 189 persons were successfully treated and discharged while 3 deaths were recorded on Friday pushing the country’s death toll 1,051.
The 156 new cases are reported from 16 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Lagos reported the day’s highest infections with 36 new cases followed by FCT – 35 and Oyo -29.
Others were Kaduna -10, Abia -9, Osun -5, Ogun -5, Enugu -5, Rivers -4, Nasarawa -3, Ekiti -3, Imo -3, Edo -2, Kwara -2, Katsina -2, Plateau -2, Niger -1
Till date, 54743 cases have been confirmed, 42816 cases have been discharged and 1051 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
