COVID-19: Nigeria records 159 new cases, total now 211,330

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 159 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 211,330.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Tuesday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 129 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result.

The 159 new cases are reported from 13 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

FCT topped the day’s infections chart with 28 new cases followed by Lagos-28, Nasarawa-25, Plateau-24 and Kwara-22.

Other states with new cases include Delta-8, Kano-8, Rivers-7, Edo-2, Bauchi-2, Bayelsa-2, Kaduna-1, Sokoto-1 and Taraba-1.

Till date, 211,330 cases have been confirmed 202, 803 cases have been discharged and 2,884 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
