COVID-19: Nigeria records 161 new cases, total now 205,926
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 161 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 205,926.
The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Friday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 181 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 3 new COVID-19 related death was recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,723.
The 161 new cases are reported from 12 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country reported 45 new infections followed by Kaduna-32 and Ondo-28.
Other states with new cases include, Kwara-12, Rivers-11, Edo-8, Ekiti-5, Niger-5, Zamfara-5, Plateau-4, Nasarawa-3, FCT-2, and Oyo-1
Till date, 205,926 cases have been confirmed, 193,798 cases have been discharged and 2,723 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
