COVID-19: Nigeria records 163 new cases, total now 251,341
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 163 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 251,341
The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Tuesday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 310 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 6 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 3,116.
The 163 new cases are reported from 11 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country topped the days’ infections chart with 59 new cases followed by FCT -33.
Other states with new cases include Delta-16, Kaduna -13, Gombe -12, Osun -12, Ogun -4, Oyo -3, Rivers -3, Borno -2, Imo -2 and Nasarawa -1.
Till date, 251,341 have been confirmed 224,939 cases have been discharged and 3,116 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
