COVID-19: Nigeria records 167 new cases, total now 209,713
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 167 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 209,713.
The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Wednesday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 178 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 2 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to2,840.
The 167 new cases are reported from 9 states of the federation.
Taraba topped the day’s infections chart with 109 new cases followed Lagos-17, Plateau-16 and Bauchi-11.
Other states with new cases include Rivers-6, Delta-3, Akwa Ibom-2, Imo-2 and Bayelsa-1.
Till date, 209,713 cases have been confirmed 197,724 cases have been discharged and 2,840 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
