COVID-19: Nigeria records 167 new cases, total now 214,789

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 167 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 214,789.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Monday.    

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 28 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result.

The 167 new cases are reported from 8 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country topped the day’s infections chart with 113 new cases followed by FCT -22 and Plateau -16.

Other states with new cases include Kano -4, Abia -3, Kaduna -3, Rivers -3, Bauchi -2 and Delta -1.

Till date, 214,789 cases have been confirmed 207,478 cases have been discharged and 2,980 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
