COVID-19: Nigeria records 168 new cases, total now 201,798

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 168 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 201,798.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Sunday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 275 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 1 new COVID-19 related death was recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,655.

The 168 new cases are reported from 10 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country reported 75 new infections followed by Abia-26 and Niger-20.

Other states with new cases include Benue-8, Ogun-8, Osun-7, Edo-3, Kaduna-2, Kano-2 and Ondo-2.

Till date, 201,798 cases have been confirmed, 190,563 cases have been discharged and 2,655 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
