COVID-19: Nigeria records 169 new cases, total now 66,974

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 169 new COVID-19 cases, bringing total number of infections in the country to 66,974.

The NCDC disclose this via its official website on Thursday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 92 coronavirus patients who were treated in some of the isolation centres were discharged after receiving their second negative result increasing the total number of discharged persons to 62,585.

 The 169 new cases are reported from 11 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Kaduna recorded the day’s highest infection with74 new cases followed by FCT -42 and Lagos -17.

Other states with new cases include Kano -8, Ogun -6, Oyo -6, Rivers -6, Ekiti -3, Bauchi -3, Katsina -2, Delta -1 and Ondo -1

Till date, 66,974 cases have been confirmed, 62,585 cases have been discharged and 1,169 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
