COVID-19: Nigeria records 170 new cases, total now 62,691

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 170 new cases of COVID-19, bringing total number of infections in the country to 62,691.

The NCDC disclosed this via its official twitter on Friday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 181 patients were successfully treated and discharged while 3 new casualties were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll to 1,144.

The 170 new cases are reported from 10 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country recorded 106 new infections followed by FCT -25 and Oyo -14.

Other states with cases include Edo -7, Kaduna -7, Ogun -4, Bauchi -2, Benue -2, Kano -1, Osun -1 and Rivers -1.

Till date, 62,691 cases have been confirmed, 58,430 cases have been discharged and 1,144 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
