COVID-19: Nigeria records 179 new cases, total now 60,834
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday confirmed 179 new COVID-19 cases bringing total number of infections in the country to 60,834.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) shows that 137 patients were successfully treated and discharged on Wednesday after recovering fully from the novel Coronavirus.
The 179 new cases are reported from 12 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the nation reported 116 new infections followed by Anambra with 20 new cases.
Other states with new infections include FCT -9, Oyo -9, Rivers -9, Delta -3, Nasarawa -3, Edo -2, Kaduna -2, Ogun -2, Plateau -2, Ekiti -1, Osun -1
Till date, 60,834 cases have been confirmed, 52,143 cases have been discharged and 1,116 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
