COVID-19: Nigeria records 180 new cases, total now 63,508

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 180 new cases of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing total number of infections in the country to 63,508.

The health agency (NCDC) disclose this via its official twitter handle on Thursday.

Data from the NCDC reveals that 73 patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres across the nation.

 180 new cases are reported from 13 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria recorded 87 new infections followed by Oyo -51, FCT -12 and Plateau -10.

Other states with new cases include Edo -4, Ekiti -3, Ogun -3, Bauchi -2, Kaduna -2, Niger -2, Kano -1, Ondo -1, Osun -1 and Rivers -1.

Till date, 63,508 cases have been confirmed, 59,748 cases have been discharged and 1,155 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
