COVID-19: Nigeria records 195 new cases, total now 158,237

The Nigeria Centre for Disease (NCDC) has recorded 195 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 158,237.

The NCDC made this known via its official twitter handle on Saturday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 620 Coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 10 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 1,964.

The 195 new cases are reported from 16 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country recorded 70 new infections followed by Kaduna -22 and Abia -20.

Other states with new cases include Edo -18, Kano -10, Akwa Ibom -9, Rivers -7, FCT -7, Borno -6, Bauchi -5, Osun -5, Oyo -5, Plateau -3, Ekiti -3, Niger -2, Ogun -2 and Zamfara -1.

Till date, 158,237 cases have been confirmed, 137,645 cases have been discharged and 1,964 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
