COVID-19: Nigeria records 198 new cases, as total hits 66,805

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 198 new COVID-19 cases, bringing total number of infections in the country to 66,805.

The NCDC disclose this via its official website on Wednesday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 182 coronavirus patients who were treated in some of the isolation centres were discharged after receiving their second negative result increasing the total number of discharged persons to 62,493.

The 198 new cases are reported from 12 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

FCT tops the daily infections chart with 53 new cases followed by Lagos -48, Ogun -40 and Akwa Ibom -20.

Other states with new cases include Bauchi -9, Plateau -8, Kaduna -5, Kano -4, Benue -3, Jigawa -3, Nasarawa -3, Edo -1 and Kwara -1.

Till date, 66,805 cases have been confirmed, 62,493 cases have been discharged and 1,169 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
