COVID-19: Nigeria records 201 new cases, as total hits 58,848

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 201 new cases of COVID-19 bringing total number of infections in the country to 58,848.

The Data from the health agency (NCDC) on Wednesday shows that 421 patients were discharged while 1 COVID-19 related casualty was recorded pushing the nation’s death toll to 1,112.

The 201 new cases are reported from 12 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epic centre of the virus in the nation reported 77 new cases followed by Rivers with 37 and Plateau -25.

Other states with new infections include FCT -13, Kaduna -12, Ogun -12, Adamawa -8, Taraba -7, Imo -4, Kwara -2, Osun -2, Abia -1 and Oyo -1

Till date, 58,848 cases have been confirmed, 50,358 cases have been discharged and 1,112 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
