COVID-19: Nigeria records 209 new cases, total now 212,359
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 209 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 212,359.
The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Wednesday.
Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 486 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 1 new COVID-19 related death was recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,900.
The 209 new cases are reported from 11 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Gombe topped the day’s infections chart with 109 new cases followed by FCT-21, Rivers-21 and Lagos-13.
Other states with new cases include Bauchi-9, Ondo-9, Plateau-9, Enugu-7, Benue-5, Oyo-4, Ekiti-1 and Ogun-1.
Till date, 212,359 cases have been confirmed 204,010 cases have been discharged and 2,900 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
