COVID-19: Nigeria records 212 new cases as total exceed 61,000

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday confirmed 212 new cases of COVID-19 bringing total number of infections in the country to 61,194.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) shows that  110 patients were successfully treated and discharged after recovering from the novel coronavirus while 3 causalities were recorded pushing the nation’s death toll to 1,119.

The 212 new cases are reported from 7 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

Lagos the epicentre of the infections in nation reported 85 new cases followed by Oyo -72 and FCT -21.

Other states with new cases include Ogun -11, Plateau -11, Katsina -6, Kaduna -5, Osun -1

Till date, 61,194 cases have been confirmed, 52,304 cases have been discharged and 1119 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory .
