COVID-19: Nigeria records 225 new cases, as total hits 60,655

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday confirmed 225 new cases of COVID-19, bringing total number of infections in the country to 60,655.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) shows that 63 patients were discharged after recovering from the virus while 1 new COVID-19 related death was recorded pushing total fatalities in the nation to 1,116.

The 225 new cases are reported from 10 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the nation reported 165 new cases followed by FCT -17 Rivers -13 and Ogun -12.

Other states with new cases include Niger -8, Delta -4, Ondo -2, Anambra -1, Edo -1, Ekiti -1 and Kaduna -1.

Till date, 60,655 cases have been confirmed, 52,006 cases have been discharged and 1,116 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
