COVID-19: Nigeria records 228 new cases, total now 252,187

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 228 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 252,187.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Sunday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 462 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result.

The 228 new cases are reported from 13 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

FCT topped the days’ infections chart with 110 new cases followed by Gombe -38 and Lagos -32

Other states with new cases include Osun -14, Taraba -12, Imo -5, Kaduna -5, Rivers -4, Borno -2, Kano -2, Bauchi -1, Delta -1, Ekiti -1 and Ogun -1.

Till date, 252,187 have been confirmed 226,408 cases have been discharged and 3,124 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
