COVID-19: Nigeria records 230 new cases, total now 251,571

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 230 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 251,571.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Wednesday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 341 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 1 new COVID-19 related death was  recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 3,117.

The 230 new cases are reported from 13 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country topped the days’ infections chart with 115 new cases followed by Gombe -29, FCT -24 and Imo -20.

Other states with new cases include Rivers -10, Ondo-9, Kano-5, Abia-4, Kaduna-4, Oyo-4, Kebbi-2, Ogun-2, Borno-1 and Jigawa-1.

Till date, 251,571 have been confirmed 225,280 cases have been discharged and 3,117 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
