COVID-19: Nigeria records 236 new cases, total now 251,930

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 236 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 251,930.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Friday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 451 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 1 new COVID-19 related death was  recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 3,124.

The 236 new cases are reported from 10 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country the days’ infections chart with 90 new cases followed by Gombe -66 and FCT -29.

Other states with new cases include Delta -12, Kaduna -11, Osun -10, Kano -8, Rivers -7, Ekiti -1, Nasarawa -1 and Oyo -1.

Till date, 251,930 have been confirmed 225,906 cases have been discharged and 3,124 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
