COVID-19: Nigeria records 247 new cases, total now 209,960

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 247 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 209,960.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Thursday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 302 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 10 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,850.

The 247 new cases are reported from 14 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Plateau topped the day’s infections chart with 49 new cases followed FCT -46, Kano -29, Lagos -27 and Kaduna -26.

Other states with new cases include Gombe -14, Bauchi -11, Cross River -11, Kwara -11, Rivers -9, Ondo -8, Niger -2, Oyo-2, Edo -1 and Ekiti -1.

Till date, 209,960 cases have been confirmed 198,026 cases have been discharged and 2,850 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
