COVID-19: Nigeria records 249 new cases, total now 251,178

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 249 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 251,178.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Monday.

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 577 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 7 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 3,110.

The 249 new cases are reported from 14 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos the epicentre of the virus in the country topped the days’ infections chart with 59 new cases followed by Adamawa -46, Imo -37 and FCT -30.

Other states with new cases include Kwara -14, Rivers -13, Kaduna -10, Taraba -9, Cross River -8, Bauchi -7, Niger -5, Delta -4, Ogun -4, Nasarawa -2 and Kano -1.

Till date, 251,178 have been confirmed 224,629 cases have been discharged and 3,110 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
