COVID-19: Nigeria records 251 new cases, total now 208,404

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 251 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 208,404.

The NCDC disclosed this via its verified microsite on Wednesday. 

Data from the health agency (NCDC) reveals that 187 coronavirus patients were successfully treated and discharged from the various treatment centres after receiving their second negative result while 5 new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded increasing the nation’s death toll from the virus to 2,761.

The 251 new cases are reported from 14 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

FCT topped the day’s infections chart with 78 new cases followed Lagos -46, Kaduna -27 and Rivers-21.

Other states with new cases include Imo-16, Edo -13, Delta -12, Plateau -10, Niger -7, Bauchi -6, Kwara -6, Akwa Ibom -4, Benue -3 and Nasarawa -2.

Till date, 208,404 cases have been confirmed, 196,123 cases have been discharged and 2,761 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
